START YOUR OWN CORN FLOUR MANUFACTURING BUSINESS IN AFRICA
Start corn flour manufacturing in Africa, to replace the imported, mass-produced brands, is now possible with the collaboration of experts in the field of food processing: UK-based Africa Processing.
Africa Processing provide Starter Kits for anyone willing to start manufacturing corn based products in Africa. Our Starter Kits consist in detailed quotations specifying the cost and technical characteristics of the necessary equipment for the implementation of your project as well as a description of the manufacturing process.
As part of our Starter Kit for the manufacture of corn flour, we also send you the contact details of the machine manufacturers, so you can buy the equipment directly from them without any intermediation cost. You will also receive two documents that will help you draft your regional market study and business plans and that can be presented to raise funds with banks and local administrations.
CORN FLOUR MANUFACTURING IN AFRICA - THE OPPORTUNITY
In developing countries, agriculture is often the main economic activity and employs a large part of the working population. As a result, it is considered to be the pillar of the economy.
Also, corn flour is one of the most used ingredients in culinary preparations in these countries. In fact, corn flour can be used in baking or pastry making (pancakes, waffles, brioches, donuts, pies, puddings, muffins or cookies), or to give consistency to several foods (sauces, soups, syrups or creams pastry chefs). It can also be used for non-food uses, in particular in the manufacture of plasticine or craft glue.
For this purpose, we offer corn growers and entrepreneurs this robust mill, thanks to which the production of corn flour can really be within their reach.
To obtain flour, generally, after harvesting, the grains go to drying (traditionally in the sun) and depending on the country, they are then "blocked", a step which consists in removing the husk from the grains (to facilitate later grinding). Then, the grains are then crushed, crushed and finally ground. This transformation, usually manual or with rudimentary materials, takes time and requires a lot of energy.
With the proposed machine, producing corn flour becomes a simple process. Once the grains are dry, just place them in the electric machine to obtain a fine flour. Designed with a technology that is adapted to Africa, this machine can produce corn flour of 22 different sizes, depending on the setting in order to obtain a more or less fine powder, semolina for example (polenta type).
Easy to use, with little maintenance, it is also ideal for producing flour from all types of dry grains: millet, sorghum, etc.
Production capacity: 500 kg / hour
Dimensions (L x W x H): 2000 x 500 x 1000 mm.
The ideal is to sell maize flour in 1 kg packages. It takes about 1 ton of corn on the cob to produce 380 kg of corn flour. The cost of production is a function of the initial investment made for the acquisition of maize equipment and grains for non-producers. The production of 380 kg of flour requires around 345 euros (226,305 FCFA) for the purchase of corn grains for non-producers, 5 euros (3,279 FCFA) for packaging and the rest for the depreciation of the equipment and manpower. The kilo of maize flour produced can be sold for a minimum of 1.5 euros (983 FCFA).
